China or Bust!

Thirteen more days until we leave for China. After tonight's concert, I am even more excited! I am always so amazed at the talented students we have at Sartartia. This is the first post in a blog that I will be trying with the students in China. I would like to get a few of them to write about the activities of the day as well as attach a few photos. If we are not successful, we will just stick with trying to email updates home.

IN CASE YOU DIDN'T GET THIS E-MAIL
FROM CHINA

Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if other group leaders have gotten an email back to everyone or the blog is being updated, but since I got online, I thought that a few words should be sent to assure the folks at home that we arrived safely and are having a great time. The flight landed this afternoon around 2:30 pm (Beijing time). The flight arrived early; however, it was delayed due to weather and air traffic. Our group got through Custom fine and we boarded the buses around 4:30 pm. Everyone is in great spirit, a little jet-lagged, but great spirit! The students are great representatives of Sartartia and the US.

We just came back from a warm reception banquet at a restaurant that is known for their Peking Duck. The dinner was fantastic! By the time dinner ended, a lot of eyes were half if not all the way shut! On the trip back, the bus was absolutely quiet! Tomorrow is a packed day. Hopefully, Mrs. Carswell will be able to update the blog. If she couldn't, I will send you all another update the next time that I login.

Cheers,

Long Pham

Hey, Jonathan -- we've seen you in the web postings. How cool. We've had so much fun looking at the photos and thinking about the wonderful experience you are all having. We know it's flown by for you but we're looking forward to welcoming you home and hearing all the stories you have to tell us. Thanks for being such good representatives of SMS, Sugar Land, Texas and the USA.
